Using the checker is simple. Just paste your text (such as a blog post, email, or article) into the text area provided. The tool will automatically analyze the content as you type, or you can click the "Check Readability" button for an instant report.

Understanding Your Readability Score.
The tool provides several key metrics to help you understand your content's complexity:

Reading Ease Score.
This is your primary score, rated on a 100-point scale. The higher the score, the easier your text is to read.

-
90-100: Very easy to read, easily understood by an average 11-year-old.
-
60-70: Plain English, easily understood by most adults. This is a good target for most web content.
-
0-30: Very difficult to read, likely best understood by those with a university education.

Grade Level.
Based on the Flesch-Kincaid formula, this score estimates the U.S. school grade level a person needs to be at to understand your text. For content aimed at a broad audience, aiming for a grade level of around 8-9 is a great goal.

The report also shows you the core metrics used in the calculations, including the total Word Count, Sentence Count, and Syllable Count. These stats can help you identify if you are using too many long sentences or complex, multi-syllable words.
